Back in 2011, Cortega teamed up with Electrique DJs to launch ElectrAfrique in Nairobi – a series of events that put fresh new afro-electronic music to the forefront, with a heavy dose of afro house. Fast forward ten years, and ElectrAfrique has become a global brand, with over 200 events produced in 20+ countries across Africa, the US and Europe. In the meantime, our stage has been blessed by some of the industry’s leading artists, from Black Coffee to Sauti Saul, Boddhi Satva to Djeff or Blinky Bill. Beyond the music, ElectrAfrique has always been about community. We are therefore so excited to be back home in Nairobi – where it all started – to celebrate these 10 years of championing panafrican electronic music together. She’s expressed her love of music in pretty much all levels, as DJ, producer, events manager (with the legendary Cloud 8 series), as well as a dancer. Her happy energy is infectious, and, in her sets, she puts it all towards making you all dance, so get ready to get down. CORTEGA is a former Nairobian who’s moved to Dakar 6 years ago, to take the whole ElectrAfrique experience West of the Continent. He’s been a pioneer in bringing afro-electronic music to global dancefloors, from Brooklyn to Berlin, Paris to Dakar. He is a true music connoisseur, and his sets are sure to take you to new corners of the world, entering new musical dimensions. ANDY & THE BEAT PARADE BAND are bringing you the original ElectrAfrique vibrations, seamlessly blending afro house with live music together. Expect high energy on and off stage, getting into the more traditional roots to electronic music, with a heavy emphasis on percussions and rhythm aimed at taking you all into a trance. Go Andy! LA DAVE has been a central actor of the minimal / house scene in Nairobi over the last decade.
