Coco Em - Land (Black) First Feat Sisian & Kasiva Taken from Coco Em' Kilumi EP, out April 21, 2022 on InFiné. Stream & Order - https://idol.lnk.to/Kilumi Initially called ‘Land First’ but changed after featured artist Sisian Kasiva misheard the words ‘Black first, Black first’ in the refrain, Coco EM’s new single is a potent lyrical statement of protest against structures of power and supremacy. Combining spoken word, droning bass and percussion that seems to cut and twist through the air, it hums with heat, energy and tension. The Nairobi-based DJ and producer Coco EM has played to dancefloors across the globe, including sets at Boiler Room Nairobi, Nyege Nyege, Uganda and Trans Musicales, France. With a sound that moves easily through afro house, kuduro, lingala, hip-hop and more, she recently delivered electrifying mixes for XLR8R and Groove Magazine, holds a residency on Worldwide FM and is the founder of Nairobi-based womxn collective and label Sim Sima.
